Mountain L –
I love these pants and ordering some more.
Jim G –
That the 34″ refers to the inseam, not the waist. I had to send them back because they were too long, and get the 30″. That should be made clear on the web site.
Hartland R –
Bought these to travel. Great light weight- good for easy packing and minimal clothes. Fast drying- another bonus when moving – will air dry in the evening. Nice big pockets for carrying the legs and daily travel.
LL B –
Pants are great quality, nice color, and fit well. BUT…the belt is awful. It doesn’t stay together. So surprised Beans would find this acceptable. I had to buy a belt instead.
Gabarker –
I decided to wear these traveling to a hot and humid location (from a moderate and arid climate). I have to say these were really comfortable in the conditions, and I never had to convert them to shorts. They have a nice zippered cell phone pocket next to the right front pocket, very convenient (I have some LL Bean cargo pants with the same feature). I just recommended them to my father yesterday.
Gail –
Fit is great. The belt takes times getting used to.
Rev J –
I like these pants very much. They are very light-weight and therefore quite comfortable even on warm days. In addition, having the zippers for the legs be color coded for the left and right legs, makes it much easier to re-attach the legs after they have been taken off. The only issues I have are with the snap and the belt. A slightly heavier belt with actual buckle would be better as would having the waist button rather than the snap. These are minor issues that don’t really affect the performance of the pants.

Great Kayaking pants! These are light weight, very comfortable, and dry quickly! Just what I was looking for! I wear them all the time – not just kayaking!
Lawnmower M –
Certainly good for outdoor activities but my husband is using them as post surgical wear because these pants accommodate a long leg cast and/or foot and leg boot. Easy on, comfortable, applicable to post surgical wear.
Jim F –
These pants fit fine, but the front side pockets are not deep enough to secure anything. Do you have a similar style with deeper pockets? Please advise.
Mike D –
The order arrived on time and in excellent condition with the size exactly what I expected. I had a pair of these pants years ago and found this ideal for flying: no metal belt.
Cool L –
Wonderful material, but waist was too large, or maybe would stretch too much.
CLT P –
My husband loves these pants so much that we bought a pair for our nephew. He’s an organic farmer and chef, and the pants are very much appreciated. Rugged and cool.
David Y –
I love the ways these pants fit and I love wearing them ❤️❤️
Adele13 –
These are OK pants for what I needed them for but the quality of the material is marginal.
Wanderer –
Terrific for hiking. Lightweight, comfortable, plenty of functional pockets. I’m not sure I love the belt fastener, but I’m getting used to it. Will purchase again.

I used these pants for a 3 week mission trip to Africa. Lightweight – great for extreme heat. Fast drying. Washed them by hand every day (no laundry facilities). If you need super abrasion resistant pants – sliding on rocks / thick foliage / briars / thorns – look elsewhere. Lots of room in thighs, groin, and buttocks area. I have a large build (6 ft @ 260lbs). I ordered XXL. Fit great – I normally wear 40-42 waist with length 34. These pants had plenty of room for movement, squatting and extension of your legs while climbing. I wish there were more that 2 colors. Would definitely buy them again.

I have been wearing these tropic wear trousers for many years. The latest batch has a thicker material, but that is ok. What really irks me is that the pockets are extremely shallow. The waist pockets are too small to fit a phone and the back pockets will barely fit a wallet. The zipper closure is gone replaced by two Velcro tabs which become useless after a couple of dozen open/close cycles. Consequently the back pocket is not secure enough for a wallet . Why do things always get worse not better? The cost savings by making the pocket so small would be negligible, but a few cents here and there adds up I guess. Same for the zippers. I guess Velcro is cheaper. The trousers are still good for the hot and wet environment, but the pocket issues make them far less usable.

Love these pants, cool and comfortable in the summer and fit as expected.
JTH4944 –
A terrific pair of extremely lightweight hot-weather pants, which genuinely keep you cooler than kackies or jeans. It’s highly breathable, dries quickly, and can transform into shorts whenever needed. I am also glad it has belt loops so that I can replace the elastic belt with a stiffer one capable of supporting a cellphone in its holder. It has only 2 minor imperfections which are the cost of keeping cool and comfortable: 1. the 2 main front pockets are too shallow – stuff falls out of them whenever sitting down. Fortunately, that imperfection is compensated by quantity of pockets (7 in total). 2. The pants tend to keep a casual, lightly wrinkled look. I will definitely recommend these pants to others.
Spineopa –
Perfect pants for traveling! My husband was so happy to have a lightweight pair of shorts and pants on vacation with only a carry on bag.
Lowell –
Excellent purchase. Worn several times already playing golf. Great for the cool mornings and then zip off the legs as temperatures warm.
