- Since 1912, the original L.L.Bean™ 6″ Bean Boots are made with a full grain leather upper and waterproof rubber. The classic duck boots feature a lace up closure with a pull tab at the back for easy on-and-off wear.

These shoes run large! I generally wear a 10.5 EE shoe. There are no half sizes, so I ordered size 11 EE (which I have done with other brands). They were way too large! I exchanged for a 10 EE pair and they fit great. There is room for thick socks if needed but they feel fine even with normal thickness socks. Highly recommended!

Order a full size down. I’m a 12 in everything except these and the 11s fit perfectly. I’ve had mine about 6 years now and they are still keeping my feet warm and dry in our Seattle weather. When I’m working outside all day in the rain, these are my go-tos. I’m not sure why more people in the Pacific Northwest don’t have a pair of these. I don’t expect to purchase a replacement anytime soon, but I’m glad I’ll be able to on Zappos now!

Love the boots. ORDER A FULL SIZE DOWN. I am usually a 9-9.5 but a 9 was way too big, unless I put on very thick socks and a smaller pair of socks on.

Boots are great. Sizing and returns to get correct sizes are terrible. Even their recommendation to “order one size down” is wrong. I wear an 11 in all shoes. After two returns I am now in a size 9 in these boots with plenty of room with thick socks. Could save themselves and their customers a lot of headache by just sizing them correctly. That way are don’t have to be special sizing instructions and dealing with returns.

Boots fit really well, the sizing was right on for me. They are comfortable, and I can see them holding up in the winter (with thicker socks) or a rainy spring day just as well. I like things that can be used in different situations, so I like that they are not too warm. Good looking and well made.

Excellent boot. Wanted to write a review as this purchase brings me full circle in the world of Bean. The first product I ever purchased from Bean was this very same boot, which I believe was Beans first product ever made, coincidentally. I purchased the, if memory serves, 12 inch boot in 1988. I just purchased the 6 inch boot, what would be some 34 years later. That has been interspersed by many purchases over the years. L.L.Bean is the best clothing company in North America, possibly world wide. It’s been an absolute pleasure to wear your products. Looking forward to further purchases.

These 6″ boots are just what I need for walking my dogs in all the rain we’ve had this spring. Easy to slip on and tighten up; it’s part of our pre-walk routine. These boots are surprisingly comfortable with a nicely crafted footbed. Size down as other reviewers have written. I wear a 10.5 in most shoes and got these in a size 9 which was perfect.

Went back and forth between the 6 and 8 inch boots. I live in New England. Returned the 8 inch and went with the 6 inch version, which were much easier to slip on and off, and felt more like high top sneakers, but in a good way. Also I didn’t think I would ever be standing in 8 inches of water or snow, and if I did, I’d use my Sorels. Definitely don’t regret the decision. 6 inch will be a good 3 season boot for me.

They are comfortable, keeps feet dry but run big. Try on first. However, LLBean is so good about returning items. Very forgiving.

I have had my Bean boots for 8 years. They are very versatile. I suggest ordering a size down because they run big. If possible, take a pair of Bean boots socks and try them on at the store.
I love my boots and wear them fall through Spring.
