- Keeping feet dry and comfortable since 1912, the original L.L.Beanâ„¢ 8″ Bean Boots are made with a full grain leather upper and waterproof rubber which sheds rain and snow. The timeless duck boots feature a lace up closure with a pull tab at the back for easy on-and-off wear.
NOTE: Bean Boots have a unique fit; you may need to size up or down.
• With light or midweight socks: Whole sizes, order one size down. Half sizes, order 1½ size down. Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 8.

Follow the bean boot sizing rules and you’ll be fine! I use it for wet or cold Or snowy conditions so I just add a lining or thick socks. Might be a bit loose when the sizing is right but want to use for dry with a thin sock might be a bit loose. Overall ????

Perfect for the nasty winter sleet/snow mix this month! Classic boots. Wide width perfect for use with winter socks and still have air circulating for insulation.

The perfect footwear for cold/wet weather, when it’s not snowy enough for snow boots. It took some time to find the right size, as my husband normally wears an 11M and ended up with a 10W in these. He says they’re very comfortable and they seem to measure up to the usual L.L.Bean quality.

My first pair sprung a leak, and LL Bean swapped them out for a fresh pair. Can’t beat service like that! Remember to keep your receipt. Otherwise, these are comfy and great for all climates (rain, snow, etc). I live in NYC.

Great boot! Ordered one size smaller as recommended and fits great with medium wool socks. I used Otter wax to protect the leather and they have broken in nicely. Wore them in Maine for “mud month” and they were fantastic, works just as well for rainy springtime in TX. Liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair in Goretex/Thinsulate for colder months. Outstanding quality and craftsmanship in both pairs.

My favorite footwear for fishing remote Canadian wilderness lakes. Superior construction, innovative design, excellent fit, comfortable, totally waterproof lower half and water resistant leather upper half especially when waterproofed, secure rugged tread for exiting boat on any shoreline, and very long lasting. My 40-year Bean boots still work fine. I just needed new boots because my shoe size is now longer.

Got 5 years hard use out of the last pair before the entire bottom separated from one boot. Work well in warm weather and damp conditions. They won’t replace your rubber knee boots but are way more comfortable.

I thought the laces would be too time consuming and therefore never would buy a pair. When I got the boots and put them on, a quick draw at the top of the lace pulls them completely shut. They are the easier boot I have ever pulled on. One pull out on the lace and you can easily remove them. One pull of the lace and you can tighten the boots. They are fabulous. Everyone should have a pair. They are very nice looking too.

These are well made boots with quality waterproof leather. They were comfortable when new but the fit is better as they are broken in. The boots have a gusseted tongue. It is important to be sure the leather folds in the best location as the boot is being broken in, as a fold location becomes permanent and it is difficult to add a new fold position later. I have somewhat narrow feet (9C for shoes, 8.5 to 9 for boots, depending on the brand).. I purchased size 8 narrow and it is very comfortable. With ragg wool socks there is room in the toe and good support in the ankle area. Lacing adjustment is easy for putting on or taking of the boots. The top can be tightened to prevent debris from entering the boot.. I strongly recommend these boots. A side comment, if you are looking for a taller boot LLB has suspended sale of the 10 inch Bean Boots until probably later in the year. The Maine Hunting Shoe is still available. I have an older 12 inch MHS and it is my favorite LLB boot.

For sure go down a size. These boots are a classic. My husband has a similar pair he got in high school, and ya’ll have resoled them 3 times. My oldest son has this same style boot and now it is time for my youngest son to have these. These boots will be going to Alaska in a few days for some hiking and fishing. Then on to North Dakota. They should be a staple in everyones closet. Keep up the good work LL Bean.

This is a boot you will have for life. My father’s pair is 30 years old and he uses them for yard work weekly. My pair is 7 years old and I decided to get the new Green/Orange coloration because it matches my alma mater Colorado State University. It is a great coloration and will compliment my other pairs well. My original tan pair has seen me through Louisiana floods, Steamboat Springs winters, and Midwest gardening. if you live or work anywhere with moisture then this is the boot for you. My feet stay dry in the snow, in the green house, and in the yard. The 8″ leather upper keeps my ankles protected while I work in the garden and at the shooting range. I have trimmed Hawthorne’s with 4 inch thorns and my feet and ankles were the only area that wasn’t stabbed. During the heat of the summer I am able to wear these boots in shorts while doing yard work. Lawn mowing, weed whacking, and edging are no problem. My feet and ankles are protected. The leather, rubber, and stitching are extremely durable and this will be my favorite boot for life.
