- Keeping feet dry and comfortable since 1912, the original L.L.Bean™ 8″ Bean Boots are made with a full grain leather upper and waterproof rubber which sheds rain and snow. The classic duck boots feature a lace up closure with pull tab at the back for easy on-and-off wear.
NOTE: Bean Boots have a unique fit; you may need to size up or down.

I am sad that I couldn’t get my foot into these boots while wearing thick socks. I bought a pair for my mom and she couldn’t get her foot into them while not wearing socks. I have very slim feet and ankles and hers are not as slim. There’s not a zipper on the side – that’s what makes it difficult. Plus they sent me brown ones (instead of navy) which I would’ve kept if they had fit even though they’re not as cute.

Just took my first 1.5 mile walk outdoors with these new boots. I usually wear an 8.5, so I bought an 8 and a 9. The size 8 fit better. My feet are a little narrow, and I have bunions. If it helps, I wear a size 40 in Naot, and almost always wear an 8.5 shoe. These were very comfortable. So glad they are made in The United States! It came with a note inside with the maker’s signature. Thank you, Janet, for making me a very nice boot. Will come in handy when walking dog in slush and rain.

I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger and buy these boots due to concerns about the fit and not knowing how comfortable they would be. However, when I received these boots I was extremely happy as the fit was perfect and they are extremely comfortable to wear all day long (even at my job where I am on my feet for 6+ hours).
I am normally a size 8.5-9 in shoes. I lean more towards size 9 typically. I purchased these boots in a size 8 and they are very comfy and give me plenty of room to wear thicker socks without being too tight. Even when I wear thinner socks, they are a little loose but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Plus, I have received many compliments on these! 🙂
If you are on the fence about these boots, I would say just pull the trigger and give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

This is my second pair of the classic Bean Boots. Where to start? The quality of this boot is amazing. I wore my last pair 6 winters in a row. I will say, in heavy snow, a little water would come in after maybe three or four years, but I was never trekking in snow. So these are a great boot relatively long term for maybe everything besides hiking Mount Everest haha.
I love that I can wear these on a very cold snowy day with thick socks and they aren’t too snug and my feet are warm and dry. Or on just a cool day I can wear them with thinner socks and they still fit great and you aren’t too hot. The temp control in these things are great. And they’re so comfortable. I have a neutral arch and my toes don’t rub or feel cramped and plenty of room (but not too much) on top. I can wear these all day with no issues.
I also can dress these different ways. With a hoodie/coat or a nicer long sleeve sweater and it looks great either way. I wear these boots almost everyday in the winter.
Lastly, the traction is good. We have a lot of ice everywhere right now. I almost slipped in my sneakers coming out of my door the other day, but the next day I wore my boots and I noticed how I didn’t slide on the ice like in my tennis shoes.
I got this second pair as a Christmas gift from my husband. I almost felt lame asking for the EXACT same boot that I had before. Almost.

Took these boots back and traded them for 6″ boots. There was nothing wrong with the 8″, she just didn’t care for them being that high. She loves the 6″ high boots that she now has. There was no problem making the trade and my wife is now happy.

I ordered my bean boots 5 years ago and they still look amazing!! The only problem was that after 5 years the sole started to get worn, so I called the company and sent them back to get the sole replaced for a great price and now they look brand new again!!
