- The L.L.Bean™ 8″ Bean Boots GORE-TEX®/Thinsulate™ are made with a full grain leather upper and waterproof rubber which sheds rain and snow, keeping feet dry and comfortable. The timeless duck boots feature a lace up closure with a pull tab at the back for easy on-and-off wear.
NOTE: Bean Boots have a unique fit; you may need to size up or down.
• With light or midweight socks: Whole sizes, order one size down. Half sizes, order 1½ size down. Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 8.

Loved these boots! Be sure to read the sizing guide. It will help you figure out the right size for you. I usually wear a 7/7.5 and the size 6 boot fits great. They are a little stiff but I think I just need to break them in a bit more. I am moving to a cold country and These boots keep my feet nice and toasty in the cold which is exactly what I was looking for and of course Zappos quick service can’t be beat! My hope is these boots last for years to come.

I read a lot of reviews about sizing on these boots before purchasing. Half the reviews said go down a full size and the other half said they are true to size. I am a 10.5 wide but sometimes go up to an 11 for width. Since these don’t come in half sizes, I ordered the 11 wide. The boots are very nice quality and very cute, but the size was way off. They felt almost two sizes too big. I reordered in a 10 wide and they fit very well. They’re still a little big but fit very well with thicker socks. They do fit a little loose around the ankle area. The laces are pretty stiff and I found it difficult to keep them tied tight enough so they weren’t loose. I decided to go with the Eastland knot and wear them as slip ons, which has been comfortable. The boots are handmade and I did think the left boot felt a little narrower around the middle of the foot than the right but figured they’d break in. The other thing that was a little off was the thinsulate inside. In the right boot toe area, the thinsulate was protruding out from the boot and my toe was bumping up against it. It bothered me and I considered sending them back but tried wearing them around the house to see if I could get it pushed back in. In the end, I decided to keep them and am happy with the purchase but I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because of the thinsulate being inconsistent. They are very cute and the thinsulate is warm in the New England cold.

I’m usually a size 8. I ordered a size 7 and with thick socks they are still a great fit. Very well made. Perfect for Midwestern winters!

Warm and comfortable. Snug if you want to wear thick socks but so warm I probably won’t need thick socks. Love them. Recommend.

I had previously bought the Sperry brand boot because it was cheaper and I didn’t want to take the plunge. I thought, “This can’t be that much different.” WRONG. After a few wears, I was so tired of my feet freezing if the temp was below 45. After getting a big snow, I finally pulled the trigger on these, and I’m so glad I did. They keep my feet dry and warm, even in really cold temps. They shipped fast, and I’ve been so impressed. I’m happy that I spent the extra dollars for the goretex lining. My husband has regular bean boots, and we both agreed that the goretex lining is worth it. It provides a little more insulation and keeps my feet completely dry. After a lot of debate back and forth, I ended up ordering my regular shoe size, and they fit great. High quality product that is worth the spend!

I wear a size 9, ordered medium width and fits wonderfully! Very comfortable, bern warm on the tootsies when temp is in the teens. Haven’t worn in below zero weather yet.

I have been buying boots year after year to find one I feel safe in heavy snow and ice. Of all the boots the Bean boot is the absolute best! I’m very mature and slipping and falling is not an option for me. I’m not saying you can’t slip on ice with these boots, I’m saying – for me – these boots make me feel safer than any others I have tried. They are warm and with the LL Bean Sherpa foot bed liner they become magnificent!!!

I purchased these boots for my daily quarter mile hike through snow, slush, ice and Manure to the barn. I needed something warm, rugged and waterproof since they would not only be used for the walk but also for mucking out the barn. I have been exceptionally happy with these boots. They are comfortable and warm for the walk and dry when mucking out the barn. When paired with the LLBean ice treads they work great in icy weather as well. Replacing my 25yr old LL Bean boots only due to the insulation not being what it was. The stitching is still immaculate & no leaks. These new boots look to be of the same quality, they’re warm & so far no leaks. Will probably take longer to break in since I no longer own a farm. But these boots can’t be beat, I’ve tried other brands they don’t compare. Wear an 8.5 in athletic shoes, unfortunately the 8.5 boots were too big. But 8 fits perfect.

This is my 2nd pair of LL Bean Gore-Tex boots, and I love them! My first pair lasted over 20 years of regular use. Very durable! They keep my feet warm and dry in cold, wet weather. I had a non-insulated pair before that. Highly recommend LL Bean boots and the quality of their products!
