I wear a 7 / 7.5 and it was suggested I get a size 6 but that I should have a thumb’s width at the toe. The 7 gives me a thumbs width at the toe so got the 7. They fit well, just a tad looser (1/2 size bigger) than they probably should be but the foot bed and all fits properly. I prefer my boots to fit a bit loosely anyways, just as these do. But puzzled why they would size them a full size larger than labeled (supposedly, again for me I did not agree and I bought my usual size). Seems confusing. Other than that, I love them and though I’ve not worn them yet, I think I will be very happy with them. This padded ankle version may not look quite as cool as the traditional Bean boot, but the tumbled leather and padded ankle make sense for comfort.

Did I need yet another pair of Bean Boots, when they are nigh indestructible and will last a lifetime? Probably not. Did I want another extremely comfortable, durable, goes-with-anything pair of boots that I can slip on easily? Of course! Thank you again, LL Bean, for making gross weather a little more fun to deal with. (And the snazzy special laces I found at the Freeport store make them even better.)

I didn’t put the boots on. This pair, like the 6″ Bean boot (ie. unlined boot), the whole length of the boot tongue is sewn to the sides of the boot (next to the bootlace holes), and makes for a narrow opening. If I put on a thick sock, which would be what I’d wear with theses unlined boots, I’m not sure how comfortable I’d be forcing my foot into the boot. Pass on these. I re-ordered the prima-loft 6″ bean boots. My feet are 10″ long, always wear size 9, and size 8 fit in the 6″ primaloft bean boot (which is not the pair I’m reviewing but just mentioned to be helpful).

I wear a size 8 1/2 shoe, so ordered size 8. They were way too big! Kinda stiff to walk around it, but very cute!

Excellent fit. Comfort, warmth, water resistant! I spend most days outdoors and this boot not only keeps my feet dry and warm, I can walk easily on any terrain and still feel comfortable at end of the day!

I love the rounded top of these boots! I usually sit cross-legged on the floor and have trouble with shoes digging into the back of my leg, but these are so nice!

Quality throughout! Bought this at main store in Freeport, Maine. It was raining and I wore it all day. Comfortable and it kept my feet and bottom of my pants dry despite accumulating water on sidewalks and streets! Can’t believe I waited so many years to buy a pair. A must have!

I wear a womens 42/12/sometimes 11 and have a medium to narrow foot (low volume). These fit perfect with some medium or light weight socks and look great.
