Noticably thinner, lighter material and less well made than the “Classic” Mountain anorak I bought from Bean just a year ago. Also slightly tighter, narrower cut and zips open much lower. No drawstring in the waist kangaroo pocket, and the bottom drawstring is thinner with skimpier plastic tightener. The hood is straight rather than having the slight visor. The “Stowaway” tab inside the pocket is gone although it will still fold into the pocket.
I’m going to keep this, but only because it’s lighter weight and narrower cut might work for spring running even if not as well for other anorak purposes.
I’m disappointed that it poses as the same “classic” anorak and at the same price. I just wish that if materials and manufacturing cost it more these days, Bean would offer two levels of quality: their original high quality and a slightly lesser for the price conscious. Similar to the way they have been doing lately with their Signature Clothing items.

While the jacket looks ok, it is paper thin. It will not keep you warm. . . at all. On top of that, it does not keep the rain out. . . at all. So what is the purpose of this jacket? Like most of L.L. Bean product nowadays, it's just cheap and not worth the money.

Great fit and well made, just what you would expect from LL Bean

Love my Anorak! Always wear it on a wet hike or around town running errands. I plan on getting the insulated version.

I normally wear Tall XL LLBean shirts and jackets. I ordered this 2XL anorak because of its quarter zip design. After unsuccessfully trying to get it over my shoulders and pulled down, I gave it to a friend who is smaller.
Whoareyou –
It has a great fit. Quite comfortable to wear and it’s easy to clean.
Leslie –
It is lightweight and a good windbreaker. I especially like the zipped kangaroo pocket that prevents loss of valuables

The hood on my anorak is so long that I can’t wear it up when it’s raining because it hangs down over my eyes and I can’t see!
Fits kinda snug. One layer only.

Great product so far and way more water resistant then I thought it would be. Road my bike in the rain for 6 miles yesterday and was completely dry underneath.

My favorite jacket! A must have and a perfect gift!!

Being from the west coast I always knew of LL Bean but never really had any need to purchase their clothing as we had numerous outdoor clothing manufacturers in our area. I was recently looking for an another Anorak for the summer and decided to give LL Bean a shot. Lets just say i have not been disappointed. My wife recieved one for Christmas from our daughter and absolutely loved it, as do I since purchasing mine. Great quality and style for an amazing price. We are currently rv’ing up the east coast and will be making a stop at the Company store to buy a few more things.

Classic LL Bean quality, fit & finish – works great for everyday wear and as stowable bike jacket

Does more than keep me dry. Windproof and lightweight it provides extra warmth and protection when the sun goes down even when it’s not raining.

I hoped to replace my aging Kelty that is nearly identical in style. My genuine and classic Kelty (XL) is roomy as an outer layer must be. Sadly the designer who made this “slightly fitted” not-classic knockoff does not understand layering. Unlike my Kelty, this anorak, even when a full size larger (XXL), does not fit over normal winter layers (pile and down sweater). I continue to use the old Kelty that was designed by outdoors people for outdoors people. The trend at Bean’s seems to be to design for urban fashion not outdoor function.

I have looked at this anorak on the L.L. Bean website and in the L. L. Bean catalog for sometime. I’m very pleased with the purchase and look forward to wearing it this coming Fall, Winter and early Spring. It might be a little too warm for our Texas Summers. I’ve tried it on with a light weight insulated jacket and the anorak has enough room to accommodate it for cooler weather.

I’m big. And Tall, more tall than big. I love wearing this most of the mild winter here. I lost my old one and bought this same one because it is the best anorak I’ve had in years.

Tried and true. Husband has 1st one from 80s, purchased another in early 2000s, sadly recently lost that one, so this one replaces it.
Matt –
Great, lightweight jacket with lots of storage. Use it at work and for hiking often with no wear and tear or unwanted leaks!
Samantha –
Very comfortable and easy to throw on for a morning walk or bike ride. Really enjoy having large front pockets along with a zipper pocket. Well constructed!

Bought this for my 18 year old son. He absolutely loves it.

Nice product and it arrived promptly. The size seemed a little small but it works.
