Had to send it back- a little too tight in the chest, but way too big in the waist.
I had worn llbean jackets for years.
But recently, most that I have ordered have been too large in the waist- and hence very baggy. I am giving up on llbean for jackets.

Disappointed that the bean counters at Bean have started to take away features from their outerwear. So many of their fleece vests and jackets are being decontented – which is very troubling. This vest no longer includes a zippered chest pocket that most men nowadays need/ want for a phone and/or wallet. Ideally there'd be 2 chest pockets – 1 on each side so you could have put your phone in one side and your wallet in the other. That would be a differentiator that would make these vests a must have/ buy IMO.
Other Bean vests are eliminating the drawcord at the hip so you can adjust the fit at the bottom – which really helps with both fit and temp reguation. At least this vest has the drawcord, but why non chest pocket. Other jackets/ vests have the chest pocket but no bottom drawcord. Very disappointing to this longtime customer. My old Bean jackets and vests have both – as well as the 2 additional inside pockets behind the handwarmer pockets that are very useful when needed.
You can use these inside stuff pockets for gloves, a hat, a letter, bill, a plane ticket, or checkbook, etc. – without having multiple items in your smaller handwarmer pockets. I appreciate and use these additional storage places all the time and your jacket/ vest can remain somewhat trim looking and you know where everything is. Very useful when traveling and very useful when your sitting because it's much easier to get at items stored on your torso as opposed to pants pockets. JMO
BTW – as to style – I'm not a fan of the stitching across the middle of the back of the vest. It's OK along the front as the stick lines demarcate the front pockets, but the stitch line along the middle of the back serves no purpose and makes the vest look a bit weird IMO

Gift for husband to replace similar vest he’s had for years. Tall large ideal fit for his long torso. He’s very pleased after giving up his beloved original vest. LL Bean vests not only look great, they last forever.

Normally I wear a large but I had ordered the jacket version of this vest earlier and "large" was significantly too large. So I knew to order a medium and the fit for me is perfect. I like the weight and cut of this vest much better than, say, Columbia's version. I do recommend sizing down one size.

This is a truly great vest EXCEPT it doesn’t have any inside pockets. Your other vests have big pockets on the inside – this should be no exception. Other than that bump in the road however the weight and comfort of the vest are great.

I like everything about this vest except that the material is soft, almost like microfleece, which I avoid buying on account of pollution from the fibers. But it’s for my elderly husband who will not need to put it in the laundry often! He was borrowing my red vest, also an LLBean small men’s regular from several years ago, which is made of a more substantial, rougher-feeling fleece. I love it… (even though it’s loose; I’m a petite 5’5″ female.) I could wish for an extra small, and for a two-way zipper, for better freedom and the way it helps things to hang — and I wish they still came in red!
