This jacket fits well and has great rain and wind protection!
Heather F –
Excellent, comfy jacket with a great hood that can withstand the downpours of the Pacific Northwest. Like the zip outer pocket and shape of the hem. Good to layer over down sweater.

I am so happy with this waterproof jacket! I saw this on the website and wasn’t sure I would like the two-tone look, but looked at it in the store and found the green extremely attractive. Everything is perfect, from the excellent zippered pockets to the slightly shaped cut and the cuffs that are adjustable with Velcro. The sleeves are even long enough for me (5’8″). My husband keeps telling me how nice I look.
My only slightly negative comment is that the fabric is a bit stiff, but it will soften after a couple of washes. Everything I have ever bought from L.L. Bean has always lasted many years so I don’t ever let cost be a factor. A hearty recommendation for this item.

Very nice jacket! Roomy enough a sweater and the Primaloft Packaway Jacket or if not cold by itself. Very nice!!

Love it. Great fit, quality & you can’t beat Goretex. Just wish LLBean would offer somewhat less bland color choices. How about greater contrast in the color blocking? Black body with jewel tone sleeves/shoulders (black & cobalt, black & emerald green, etc.) could look great. Sometimes LLBean has gone almost too wild/contrasty with Goretex color choices (my two tone purple with lime green and pink zipper accents from 1 or 2 years ago) but now is too tame.

My husband has had this same coat (in men’s) for years so when I saw it on sale at an outlet store, I couldn’t resist. I’m hoping this is the same good quality. So far so good. I wore it skiing over a fleece and it was perfect. Lots of handy pockets and I plan to buy a puffy down coat for the inside in the near future. Kept me nice and dry in the freezing rain last weekend, and I like how it’s a little longer in length. The sleeves are nice and long too.

Love this jacket! Keeps me totally dry in downpours! Couldn’t be happier.

Fit is perfect. I got a small I am 5’3″ tall and weigh 115lbs. First time I wore was in a icy rain. It kept me perfectly dry. Love it.

Hands down the best raincoat I’ve tried with regards to being waterproof. I have owned numerous outdoor brand raincoats that I use when hiking and walking in New England, including the Bean Trail Model. You can feel the difference with the Gortex and is worth every penny. Even though it’s lightweight and I purchased a small, it’s roomy enough for rainy winter days since it fits easily over a thicker fleece. But the shape is slightly fitted so it doesn’t just look like an oversized poncho. I love the pockets both in the inside and outside and they all zip to safely secure things like keys, credit cards and other smaller items. I purchased bright orange and the highly visible color is ideal for being in the woods. While it doesn’t pack into its own pocket, I have put it in my hiking pack and it doesn’t take up much weight or space at all. If dirty, it wipes down nicely and I haven’t yet needed to do any extensive washing.

Love this goretex shell! Perfect color for walking on roads, great visibility. Will use often.

The most comfortable coat I’ve ever owned! It’s durable, sits below the waist, and tapers well to the body keeping out the chill.

When I went out to feed the birds on a very rainy day wearing my new coat, I stayed completely dry for once. I had the hood up and I found that the rain on the hood sounded like rain on a roof. That made me feel very protected. Great coat!
Nadine –
Great as a shell over my pack away jacket when walking the dogs . I got the terra-cotta color for visibility when walking and clearing the driveway in New England winter weather. Kept me dry in moderate rain.
Jim C –
I purchased this jacket as a gift for my wife and she loves it. Great LL Bean quality and a perfect fit.

Shell keeps the Midwest wind out. Worn for walking and hiking at below freezing temps and with negative wind chills, with fleece jacket and other thermal layers underneath. Color helps keep me visible. If you don’t want your phone to get cold in the pockets, be sure to put it in the inside one.

Please remove my 13-Jul-2022 post, as I have just discovered the additional string-pull on the back of the hood that allows for the perfect cinching that I needed. It fits perfectly now. The stiff/short bill on the hood, deep zippered pockets (3 outer and 1 inside), and velcro wrists are a nice touch. I ordered black. VERY roomy on me which is what I needed since I plan to layer-up underneath for a fall northern hike.

I just love it!! Its so comfortable fits great and really keeps the rain out.

Love this. Took it on a very wet Canoe camping trip and stayed dry above!

Great rain jacket with all the bells and whistles.

This was perfect for our Alaska trip where it rained several days. It was great to keep several layers underneath. The size was perfect.

Best purchase I made for my 50km backpacking trek in Jotunheimen. It never stopped raining, and snowed at some intervals. This jacket held up to the constant wear and tear of a large pack, steep climbs which meant scuffing it against the granite, and very bad weather. The vents kept me comfortable on the go, the pockets were placed everywhere I needed one to get to compass / other items quickly, and the details like the hood having a rigid brim kept the rain from dripping onto my face. Did not expect this jacket to be this excellent!
Deborah –
This is really waterproof. It fits well but is comfortably roomy without looking bulky. I prefer to add my own layers rather than have a lined raincoat. The hood is big enough for a headlamp or a knit cap, with a well placed visor. And I love the green which reminds me of white pine needles.
BostonMAma –
This coat is perfect for New England weather. Its thin enough for summer, plus blocks wind in fall. The green color is perfect for all the seasons. I specifically like the velcro closures at the wrist and the hood stays on your head in the wind!
Gail W –
This jacket is true to size. It fits well and looks sharp. The sleeves are long but have velcro tabs. I really like all of the pockets and the adjustable hood. This is a quality product.
Trevlac –
Really great rain jacket. It is very waterproof while maintaining style. Perfect for our golf trip to Ireland. The price is a bit steep but I think it will prove to be well worth it.
