Retired L –
Worn this coat throughout Alaska in July. Encountered rain, wind and 40 – 60 degree weather. It was great. The pockets functioned well especially the breast pocket for my phone. The packability was great for shoving in a backpack. I highly recommend this coat for travel.
Karen N –
Great fit. Lightweight. Easily packable.
I don’t look fashionable wearing the hood.

First I ordered the vintage lavender, which was so fabulous in appearance and comfort that I ordered a second in the light blue (because you never know when a style will disappear). My favorite of all my many LLBean jackets!. The small is mildly snug at the waist(I am old), but not too snug to keep.
Great B –
Wonderfully comfortable and surprisingly warm for its weight. Very well made.
Foxyny –
These jackets are awesome. They are wind resistant, somewhat rain resistant, and are quite warm with the right underlayer. They are light as a feather and they have a functional hood. I have repeatedly washed them and they still look great. I just ordered my third one as I have outgrown the smaller size blue one I ordered a couple of years ago. I now have the raspberry and the camp green. Great color selection too!
WolfT –
Love this Jacket! Wore it constantly in the Canadian Rockies. Kept me dry, warm and voguish.
SnowMainer –
Since this jacket has the packaway feature, is described as water and wind resistant and ultrawarm, and it has a hood, it’s great to keep it in my vehicle for unplanned changes in weather I may encounter. I am a fan of green and I really like this shade. The fit is flattering. Glad I ordered this jacket. Got it on a two-a-day daily markdown too.
Trish –
Originally order medium while it fit great but returned it because i wanted to be able to be wear ssweatshirt under it. Dont know how warm it will be with early winter sonce i just got it. Cant wait. Going away in fall and it folds up so small.
Elizabeth –
Exactly the jacket that I needed. Fits great. Warm and lightweight.
Arlington V –
Surprisingly warm yet not bulky. Hood snugs nicely around the face.
MARY –
Lightweight and packable for trips beautiful colors
Mary M –
Perfect packable size & weight for an Alaskan cruise! We were blessed not to have any rain, but I know it would have been perfect for that type of weather, too.

I have at least 6 PrimaLoft Packaway Jackets, both the hooded and unhooded versions. They are light weight and versatile, and look very nice. I am 5’3″ tall and weight about 150. Size petite large fits me best, but I can wear a petite medium but its a little snug over anything but a light cotton shirt.
Mountaineering G –
I bought this as a belay jacket and it’s exactly what I’m looking for. I needed it to fit over my tshirt, fleece, and windshirt so I almost ordered a size up, but the size chart was on point so I ordered the small. I’m 140lb, 5’8″ and was able to fit everything underneath!! I will say the reviews are right that putting your arms in front of you causes the sleeves to pull back too far up your arm, but for the price and the weight I’m not willing to pay for better fitting sleeves. I also have hips that the jacket doesn’t fit around but I’m fine with it riding on my waist since it’s mainly an emergency jacket. As a product manager, price-fit ratio can’t be beat, especially with the off season colors (aka on sale). LL bean makes good gear so I haven’t tried it in the cold yet, but I am confident it will keep me warm as an outer layer.
NC G –
This jacket rolls up into almost nothing. I’m glad I got one with a hood.
Hmcguire –
I love this jacket! Bought it to wear on a trip to DC in February. Kept me nice and warm the whole time and was easy to pack! It’s my go to jacket now. It lives in my diaper bag, my work bag, wherever I need to pack it. It cuts the wind really well!
Roxana –
The vintage lavender color is beautiful in person. I ordered a L, which is my usual size in other brands, but ended up returning for a M which fits perfectly. I’m 5’8 and 165lbs with a longer torso and long arms. It’s flattering, and not too puffy. It fits very nicely into its own built-in pouch, which was a great feature for backpacking.
Kris –
It was just as described and I loved the color. Thanks LL Bean for providing great outdoor wear for my active lifestyle of hiking, biking and camping.
Desert P –
I have purchased three of these for myself and one as a gift for a relative. I absolutely love them. I have used them for hiking and then easily wrap them around my waist when it is warmer. I have used them for travel. They are my go to jackets because they are so light, packable, and warm. I have washed them in the washer with no problem. They are expensive but worth it. I might get a black one this year for “dressier” travel. P.S. I am vegan so I do not use down.
Amerks –
I bought the grey with orange piping. Very striking design. Fits exactly. This is perfect for running errands when bulk isnt needed. Highly recommend.
Andrea –
This coat worked great for a trip to Alaska. A great layer for most days (even when lightly sprinkling) and easily layered up with a rain coat when it was really raining. I can tell this will be my normal coat for Colorado winters.
Down M –
Lightweight, stylish and just right warmth for Autumn and Spring.
Pam4 –
I love this jacket, perfect for an Alaskan cruise. Takes up no space in a suitcase. Not as warm as the sales person claims, but plenty warm for 50 degree weather.
Bell –
I love this winter coat. I will keep you warm up to -15degrees. I bought it in August and put it on as soon as I got home. WOW! Super comfortable. I bought a size xl because I’ll have on a sweatshirt, or a sweater in winter and didn’t want to have a tight fit. I’m 5 ft, weigh 140lbs. and this xl is just perfect on me. Yes, it actually folds into a pocket.
Carolina G –
I have not worn it yet as it is still summer here but since we have mild winters here I think it will be a good coat for this climate, thus I cannot attest to how it will last and wash. I usually wear a 1X coat so I can wear it over sweaters, but the 1X looked nice & flattering over summer clothing but it would be too tight over a sweater and the sleeve length seemed a little short so I returned it to exchange it for a 2X. The 2X will fit over a sweater, the sleeve length is good, and when I am not wearing a sweater there are adjustable elastic bands in the hem of the coat on each side so I can adjust tighter for more flattering fit. I like its pockets and little attached hood. I am looking forward to wearing it when the weather cools off.
