The colors are what caught my eye on this vest (marine blue). Unfortunately, that is the best thing about it. As others have said, there’s really no puff, just stitched up strips with a miniscule of filler. Bean says that its lightweight trademarked insulation will keep you warm and windproofed. I didn’t put it to the test but I cannot imagine that it would. It’s really not worth the price.

I love the Mountain Classic line. I ordered this vest in the brown/blue combination. The colors are vibrant, yet neutral enough to be versatile. Fit was a bit large with only a tshirt, but would be spot on with a heavier layer like a flannel or fleece. Excellent construction. I’ll always prefer metal zippers, but I think those days are over.

I live in a warm climate, and this is the vest I’ve been looking for not too heavy or too light, not too short or too long, and not too tight or too loose. It’s a “Goldilocks” vest: just right. In fact, it’s so perfect I just ordered a second one in solid black. (It’s also very reasonably priced.)

As others have mentioned, this vest is not puffy. I like that, as I plan to use as a fall vest and not winter. Beautiful colors and true to size. Highly recommend if you don’t mind it laying flatter than a true “puffer” vest.
