After nearly 20 years I was still overjoyed with my Bean Flying Tiger leather jacket in the wintertime. (And when the temperature dropped below 20 degrees, I simply wore my Bean Sweater Fleece beneath it for even more warmth). However, I have to admit that my beloved Flying Tiger is a tad heavy. So when my father-in-law bought a 850 Down Jacket, and it was as light as air, I had to buy one for myself. So comfortable, so warm, so light–and yet it's good to minus 25 degrees! And knowing Bean products, I'll probably have this jacket as long as I've enjoyed my Flying Tiger. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This jacket is light weight; that’s the beauty of down. It’s also very warm and wind resistant. I live in Saint Paul, MN, where a short dog walk can leave you shivering if you’re not dressed for it. Since I got this jacket, it has become my go-to for going outside.

Excellent down jacket. Extremely light weight and comfortable. Very warm. Easy to wear with great pockets. I purchased the XXL Tall to be able to easily wear over other garments in the winter, e.g. fleece or sweater. Since I just got this in early May, 2022, time will tell on long-term durability.

It’s now June here in the Pacific Northwest. While much of America is now enjoying warm temperatures, not so much here. Today is only 52F; you just never know what to expect. So yes this jacket is the perfect weight for our corner of the America. The color is really rich. A nice dark blue-ish with a bit of gray/black tones. The red piping gives the jacket “personality”. I also have this same color in the LL Bean vest.

The best down jacket I’ve ever worn! I bought my first one over 10 years ago. This is my second. Amazingly lightweight and warm, excellent fit, convenient pockets, always easy to zip. A great value! Looks good, too.

fits as stated, packed with lots of down. I have owned down jackets that cost nearly twice as much, that had much less down fill, and far less loft. i’ve already worn it twice on cold northern michigan mornings and it kept me warm.
