So soft & warm, my son loved them. He pairs them with wool base layer for polar-bear camp outs.

Many of the reviews were helpful. My husband typically wears a M in ski tights, so bought a small since reviews said these were loose fitting, unlike tights. I would consider these heavy weight and that’s what he needed. Have not had the pilling issue, but they are washed in a front load washer on a short cycle with other base layers, so that may help. They work well for what he needed.
