Jonny –
Used the boots for first time on a 1-day visit in Zion nat’l park. I found them to be very comfortable and cushioned. I had no problem with grip except when the rocks were covered in sand. I didn’t intend on getting them wet but Mother Nature had other plans. Severe thunderstorm drenched me and soaked the boots to the point I dumped out half a cup of water when I took them off. I might as well had worn them in the Narrows. Nevertheless they dried out pretty nice without signs of major damage.
Chism –
great fit broke in right away. water proofing lasted two days i even sprayed them and they still get wet in just a heavy dew. but are comfortable
Novasail –
Nice, well constructed, boots. Just could not get them to feel comfortable on my feet.
Jake –
This is a solid, dependable boot. Looks pretty good, any chance of some non-basic colorways for this style in the future?
Mike –
Awesome CS , guid was very knowledgeable about the product. Check out was smooth

So far so good for the feel and the traction and the waterproofing of these boots.
BUT — the laces are wrong — they should be the spiral type that easily move through the notches. These laces are ridiculously hard to tighten. And I was surprised to find that there are no rear of he boot pull-on tabs. Why leave those off? Save money?

It’s my everyday shoe never had a problem it it comfortable and light also waterproof easy to clean. I love them.

The boot looks great, and is nice and ,ight. The boot, however, did not have a comfortable fit. From the ball of foot forward to end of toes it felt like there was a ledge without the same padding on this forward part of the boot.

This Classic Hiker is an unusual looking boot, but I did like the rubber outsole. The footbed left me with pain in my heels and forefoot, but adding a good orthotic did not alleviate the discomfort. Laces were much too long, and they dragged the floor when you weren’t wearing them. Had high hopes that my feet would appreciate this boot, but unfortunately it didn’t work out.
Jazzman –
Light weight comfortable boot. Good traction on wet, icy and snowy terrain.
Good support through the ankle and instep.
I did spray them with waterproofing spray as extra precaution for wet/snowy weather.
Stylish enough to wear for casual occasions.
Fit is true to size.

Amazing boots and stylish. I received many compliments on the first day wearing them.

After exchanging for a full size larger than my usual, these boots are excellent. Very warm, snug, and comfortable for long winter walks. When I ordered them in my size, the toe box was way too tight on the sides and my toes were touching the tip of the shoe. Exchange was easy but just mentioning it here for future purchasers.

Great waterproof men’s hiking boots.
Good price for the excellent quality.
Jim M –
No break in wear required. Unbelievably comfortable!

The stitching thread is weak and mesh is not as durable as I was thinking for partial aggressive hiking and or carpentry work. I have small wear hole and loss of threads from only wearing them for just over 2u s a half weeks. Other wise they are awesome; extremely comfortable and light for good mobility. Plus breathable great grip on the soles. Cool colors too

I have been wearing Brooks shoes for the longest time and recently referred to LL Bean by my wife so decided to give this shoe a shot and I am extremely pleased. They feel super comfortable yet sturdy on hikes and are truly waterproof. Quality also looks solid for now but we shall see. So far I am very happy with this product.

Excellent boots for the money. This is my first ankle high boots in many years and is taking a little getting used to but overall good solid boots.
GMcD27 –
Very comfortable and not too hot for warmer weather hikes. May not be best for a low volume foot. I will know more after some tougher downhills.

Shoe is comfortable and stylish but when It rains it has very little traction on rocks. I hiked 3 days in Acadia and they did the job but also almost broke my leg doing so.
Great for mild to strenuous hikes, but if there is water involved good luck.

I always receive 4 to 5 years of service from the shoes I purchase from LL Bean. They’re comfortable and sturdy. Look good as well.
John –
Comfy, functional, and I keep getting compliments.
Barry J –
Kept my feet comfortable, warm and dry while hiking extensively in Banff Canada during a family vacation. Highly recommend!

Littel early to rate a pair of boots. That is why it is 4 not 5. Have not given them the complete work out yet. I did notice that when I was washing them on my feet that they might leak. Will keep track of that and let you all know if there is a problem. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and have fairly good traction, not as good as my Cresta Hikers, but I guess that is why they are half the price.
