Needed something that really cushions the balls of my feet when walking or hiking. Otherwise my feet get very sore. These fit the bill and are wide enough to be comfy without looking like boats and give great support all around. They saved my trip to California.

Felt like a brick and toe box was too narrow. Not only was this shoe very heavy, which I noticed as soon as I lifted it out of the box, it just didn’t feel like a quality made shoe. I also didn’t care for the look of it either. It’s like of frumpy. Definitely not for me. It’s going back.
After ordering two LL Bean shoes, I’m learning they don’t make wide toe box shoes. I absolutely loved the LL Bean Trailduster Hiker Low, but it was too narrow in the toe box. That shoe had great construction, quality, and style but it was too narrow in the toe box. I have a wide toe and narrow heel so wide won’t work. 1/3rd of the female population have wide toe and narrow heel as was told to me by my podiatrist yet manufacturers don’t make shoes for us.

Bought these for light to moderate hiking (no mountain trails yet). I am extremely happy with this purchase.. Got into a boggy area, no water in the shoe. I am comfortable in the shoes, and they are gripping the trails well (rocks, roots, sand…). They are also rather light compared to many hiking shoes, I am thrilled with this purchase, i decided to take a size up as i like wearing heavy socks in my hiking shoes. Otherwise true to size, and the price is so right!

I love these! I bought a pair last year and was delighted with the fit, comfort, and looks of the shoes. I wanted to buy another pair but they were all out. So, I watched this spring to see if they were back in stock and they are! So now I have 2 pairs of the most comfortable hikers I’ve had!

Really enjoying my Trail Model shoes. I wanted something that would give me better traction on both rocks and loose gravel. I live in the Rocky Mountains. They are called Rocky for a reason. Last week I hiked in the National Park. No slips on dry or wet loose rocky surfaces. The stone/bayleaf color is subtle and nice. Does not show dirt badly. The fit was totally right on. Good space in the toe area, but not too much. I do not have any slippage in the shoe. Completely pleased with my purchase. Try them!

First I ordered the wrong size. I wear a 10 and ordered a 9. Don’t know where my mind was out. LOL. Went with a 9 1/2 because 9’s weren’t that far off. The exchange was easy and I’m very happy with the shoes. Really comfortable.

At first they were a little stiff but I really needed them so I stuck it out after about a week they softened and now are very comfortable. They are great for walking and hiking and they are light weight so very comfortable this time of year. But I’m looking forward to fall so I can go out for some long hikes in them

I really like these shoes!! Had been looking for a comfortable, but stable hiking shoe with good traction, and found them at a great price at the LLBean outlet! Wore them on an 8 mile hike through Gulf Hagas in Maine! Lots of waterfalls and scrambling up and over rocks with great support and grip!

This shoe is sturdy but not heavy. The toe box is a good width as too many others are way too narrow. I like the neutral colors as well.

Have only recently began using these shoes but very pleased so far. Size is perfect as I requested, including wide width, and seem very solid and substantial. I had been debating whether to buy these or tennis shoes which I’ve always used before for walking and like these so much better. I’m not a hiker but walk several times daily with my dog as well as walk with a friend weekly for 2-3 miles. If my satisfaction remains, I will buy these again when this pair wears out.
