Pro – I wear these shoes everyday to walk the dog (2-3 miles), and they are great. They provide good support and are comfortable. This is why I would recommend this item, but with the caveat below.
Con – The reason I gave only 3 stars is because the fabric lining the inside of the shoe back by the heel/ankle starts to wear out in just months while the outside, including the sole, is fine. This is my third pair of this model (trail model low), one ventilated and the last two waterproof, and it’s happened with all of them. I’ve only had my latest pair for 3 months, and the interiors on both are already starting to wear away.

I live at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in South Central Colorado. Needless to say, my shoes and hiking boots get quickly beat up. I needed a nice looking walking shoe for a trip to Chicago where over the course of a week-end I must have logged around ten miles of walking on pavement. Right out of the box, these shoes were comfortable. No pain or fatigue issues at all. Navigated airports going and coming without a twinge. I have wide feet and shopping for shoes can be a nightmare. These were great. I have boots so probably won't put these to the test on the trails here. It's nice to have one good pair or shoes.

When the weather turns cold, I switch to these shoes for my daily walks. They are light-weight and fit me very well.

These shoes fit great from the very first day. No hot spots or blisters. My only complaint is that the laces will not stay tight. I’ve used them for 14 days in my daily walking exercise and had to stop each and every day to re-tie them. I guess I will now have to shop for new laces because these are not going to work.

I suffer from bad Plantar Fasciitis and have been on the hunt for shoes I can wear all day long while on my feet. These are comfortable and have good support cushion, but they made my feet look huge, clumsy & boxy. While I’m desperate for comfort, I just couldn’t get past the way they looked on my feet.

Add to my previous review on 12/8/2021. I purchased the 6 1/2 wide, they’re great, very similar to the toe room of Keen hikers. I’ve been wearing them most days for a month now, they’re very comfortable

I am just breaking them in wearing around the house. My normal shoe size is a 7 1/2 wide and I bought an 8 wide. The width is comfortable and I have enought room in the toe box area when wearing medium weight socks. The round shoe laces tend to come undone, but I will educate myself more on how to tie them more securely. On the first look of the shoes, they look that they might be heavy on my feet but they do not feel that way when wearing them. LL Bean has good quality merchandise and I hope that these shoes will live up to that.

Got these for hiking, good shoes! I climbed two difficult trails with them brand new and no blisters or pain, great shoes. Make sure they fit you right! Im sometimes a 7 and ended up needing a 7.5 for more toe wiggle room.

Perfect fit first try on and no need of breaking it. I was looking for this shoes for a very long time. I think that the less the number of tying the shoe laces the better. Less constraint in the movement of the upper portion of the foot. This shoes relieved my feet aches and pains while walking, Intend to buy another of this shoe in different color.

Very well made! I ordered 8 wide and I don’t believe it is a true “wide”. I also bought another brand called Brooks and their wide fit perfectly. This may have been mis-labelded as wide…not sure. But they are a really nice shoe. Returning as too tight.
