Awesome shoe and I so wanted it to work but the toe box, in the area of the pinky toe, is a bit too narrow for me. The 10 was too long and I had hoped the 9.5 would work by wearing them in the house for several days but the leather wouldn’t give, probably because that area seems to have another layer of leather and stitching reinforcing the structure of the shoe. Again, beautiful shoe but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with a wide toe box. Sadly, I have to return it but I absolutely loved the look of this shoe, the excellent outer sole, and the overall quality construction of this shoe.

I have a wide toe base and a small heel-these fit the shape of my foot well
I can wiggle my toes!! Love the color too

I’ve put a few weeks of daily walks (3-5 miles) in these and they seem to be holding up nicely and are comfortable. Waterproof is a plus!
Miss A –
Fabulous shoes! I ordered a half size up as recommended by your shoe fitting tool and they fit comfortably. They’re great for hiking or just walking the dog on country roads.
Sandspas –
These are great shoes. You can walk in them all day long

TLDR: These comfortable shoes keep my feet dry in the rain and on morning walks through grass covered in dew. They have enough traction that if my dog sees a squirrel I don’t have to worry about being dragged behind him. Before buying the Traildusters, I had my eyes on LL Bean’s Bean Boot Mocs, but Zappos doesn’t sell my size and LL Bean has my size backordered for months. I tried the Sperry knockoff and felt like I was wearing slippers outside that would just pop off at any moment. I returned those. These shoes were $40 more than I had wanted to spend, but I justify the price because I got two shoes in one – a boot for walking in the rain as well as for hiking on trails. Bonus that they’re cute enough to wear around town, too. In terms of size, I have an old pair of LL Bean rain boots in a 6, so I at first ordered 6 for these but had to exchange them for a 6.5, which feel much roomier and better. I’ve had trail running shoes in the past purport to be “waterpoof” but they would inevitably come unglued at the seams or the mesh would rip. I wanted a solidly built shoe with few failure points. This pair seems to fit the bill, but let’s see how long they last!

These shoes put your feet into a neutral position along with little to no heel to toe drop. This makes for a very “grounded ” feel. Good grip, good support, and very comfortable! Use for light day hiking and tripping around. Order your normal size shoe. I am an 8.5 -9. 8.5 fit perfect.

These shoes are not only so cute, they’re comfortable right out of the box! I love that the heels have plenty of cushioning so there’s no ankle rubbing, and the toe box is just wide and high enough to accommodate thick hiking socks. They have good support on their own, but I’ve also been able to add my orthotics with no problem. I love the raspberry color, too.

Very very comfortable. Had to go up a size. Love the color.
Nancy –
Light weight, comfortable but also sturdy and kept my feet dry when hiking in the rain.

These are a two thumbs up! Leave it to LLBean to make exactly what I was looking for – a non sneaker in a neutral color that is rugged and comfy. The distressed leather looks like an old friend. Comfort is wonderful and I like the sturdy matching laces. Wearing these comfy walking shoes on our trip to Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands this summer will be the perfect alternative to typical sneakers – sure give away as a tourist. š

These shoes are great for hiking or as tennis shoes on neighborhood walks. Very comfortable right off the bat; no breaking in at all. They look very nice and not heavy like some hiking shoes. Would definitely recommend.

While I wasn’t sure about the heel, which was a little different than most shoe/sneakers, and the color, with the orange trim and laces, wasn’t my first choice, I couldn’t be happier with the way they fit right out of the box! A match made in heaven! I ordered the $89 hikers by mail just to see if I liked them better but decided to keep these Trailduster Hikers (by the way, the $89 pair was good too). They are worth the extra $$.
I find the comfort and support perfect whether it’s heading for a hike or long walk or running to the supermarket. They give my poor tootsies enough cushion and support that any foot issues I’ve been dealing with vanish! My last pair of hiking boots I bought were LL Bean’s 40 years ago! Don’t know what I’ve been waiting for settling for sneakers. These are perfect…so good that my husband is about to buy a pair or something similar. Couldn’t be happier.

I bought these to take on a trip to England where I knew it would be wet. It was wet, but my feet stayed dry and they didn’t hurt at the end of 10-15 mile hikes each day. The only issue I had was that I didn’t have good traction on wet granite steps, but otherwise they performed well.
Kforgash –
Comfortable and supportive but they are a bit hot.
Jeanne W –
Comfortable for walks and a beautiful, fun color! Bought them for an upcoming Oct trip with plenty of city walking and waterproof in case of rain. More polished than sneakers.
ISSA –
These hikers have added a sping to my step while walking my dog.
Alice –
I did a four mile hike right out of the box, and my feet were still happy at the end of the adventure.
Walker –
Very comfortable, water proof so to hot on 85 degree days or hotter, I wear them everyday
Luvmyhuskies3 –
I bought these to replace my old New Balance Country Walkers.
Mariko I –
I walked one and a half miles on the day I received these shoes. No breaking in necessary. They are the most comfortable hiking/walking shoes I have owned. A bit pricey but they are worth it. Nice color, too.
Poodlemom1 –
This is my second pair because they fit my orthotics and are supportive, comfortable and purple! I brought them to Disney this week and the added bonus is that they are waterproof! Seems that it is the rainy season in Florida and my feet are dry and comfortable.
Document T –
Fit properly and comfortable right out of the box.
Phyllis –
I had a previous pair and liked them so well I ordered another
