Sisterwitch –
Nice shirt! I bought it for gardening. Not sure about the bug resistant material yet but the two zipped side pockets are a major plus and they aren’t mentioned in the description that I could find. I liked the other one I bought from Bean (Tropicwear Pro Stretch) a bit better but it only has one side zipped pocket along with two zipped chest pockets. Both of these shirts have tabs to keep shelves rolled up when desired. This fit nicely but the button holes are a bear to undo. L. L. Bean needs to offer more colors or a variety, not just pastels. Many of us look terrible in these soft colors and don’t wear them even in spring or summer if we can help it. I’m sick of having to compromise on this. It’s the same with all the women’s shirts offered on this site currently. I would have bought twice as much if I was able to find any t-shirts or over-shirts in earth tones.
Beangirl –
Most comfortable and perfect for keeping the mosquitos away, as well as UPF 50+.
These shirts are quality and well made, look and feel great. I plan to buy more!
Karen V –
Great fit! Buttons are a little tough to button and unbutton but they get looser with time.
LLBean S –
Excellent for repelling insects esp. near creeks & high grass.
Grandma T –
I purchased this shirt to wear while gardening. It is very comfortable and seems to keep the bugs away. I have not had any problems with the buttons as some others have mentioned in their reviews. I have some of the No Fly Zone pullover shirts which are also very nice, but this one is lighter weight and cooler when the temperature begins to rise. I wish these clothes came in petite. I have a couple pairs of the No Fly Zone pants, also, and everything is large on me, but I put up with it in order to keep the tics and mosquitoes away.

Best bug shirt ever! I’m an avid New England gardener and this shirt repels bugsI still need to wear a mosquito net over my head though. I read about the problem with the too tight button holes and just clipped the buttonhole openings a bit with a small sharp scissors. With this shirt, I don’t need to use bug repellent. I would recommend it to anyone who is outside a lot in New England.

I like this shirt. I ordered a size up and wear it like a light jacket to walk in the woods. The fabric is comfortable (when warm weather arrives it will still be my go-to woods-walking shirt), the side pockets are great. I am not dreading bug season this year! I did open up the buttonholes just a bit to ease buttoning, no problem. For me, it’s a fine shirt to wear and the orange is a surprisingly lovely color.

This is a lightweight shirt perfect for keeping the sun sun off. The shirt is relaxed fit. My usual medium fits fine. I love the pockets on the side. I also really like the snaps at the collarmakes for a great finished look. The chamois fabric in the left front inner corner is a handy wipe for sunglasses. I’m pleased with my purchase.

Button holes are way too small difficult to button and unbutton. If I had arthritis it would be impossible to button.
CSWINGERT –
Comfortable and fits well. I love the color the style.
Carolyn –
This shirt is comfortable and attractive. It repels ticks. We share our 70 acres with a herd of deer and I had to go to the ER to have a tiny deer tick removed this spring. Then I needed 10 days of medicine to prevent LYME . This shirt allow me to enjoy nature and it helps me feel confident that bugs will be repelled. Note doesn’t work for Deer flies.
Ladie T –
It is good for rainforest but add mosquito repellent on skin too
Mimi –
Like the shirt and especially pleased with the fabric. My only complaint is the I have a hard time buttoning the shirt. Either the buttonholes aere too small or there isn’t enough play between the button and the fabric it was sew onto.
Kathryn S –
This shirt does a good job of repelling mosquitoes. This fit is a little boxy, long, and large.
Terri –
The perfect layer in Alaska. I wore it more than I thought I would.
Bloomfield G –
Great quality with all those extra features that one finds in Bean’s clothing. I have to admit, however, that, since I wear this only in the garden, the style is a bit of overkill: no one but the mosquitos and me see it.
Fritzzoe –
Well made, pretty colors. Technology enhanced, just what I needed. Bought 2.
CHess –
Fit exactly as expected, wonderful fabric, quality manufacturing.
Etiwanda –
I bought it for trip to Jordan and Egypt. Wish it came in petite sizes. Otherwise it’s a very nice shirt.
Ess2bee –
Very comfortable and effective for hiking in the summertime Florida wilderness!
Trailbuilder –
This shirt has completely discouraged clouds of mosquitoes stirred up while doing trail construction, even at dinnertime! It has a pocket that will hold a cell phone with a sturdy case. It also helps keep me fairly cool during hot, humid weather.
Jessica –
Thank you! I am grateful after having anaplasmosis, that I can be protected from ticks.
Maryland A –
Nice style. True to size. The red rust color bleeds on 1st wash.
