I really wanted this to work as I love the idea of a long plaid shirt that I can wear with leggings. The material is stiff, though, and doesn't hang well. The biggest negative for me is the non-matching plaids. Perhaps it wouldn't be so obvious were it not such a big plaid. Not an inexpensive item – I think one should expect that this detail be handled better.

The chamois is so soft and cozy. It is surprisingly supple, compared with other LLB chamois shirts. The side pockets are a brilliant addition. The red plaid is rich without being too bright. I have two issues with the tunic, however. It is a little tightish across the back shoulders. If it shrinks at all, it will be uncomfortable. Only thin shirts will work. I can't understand why it's tight across the shoulders. The sleeves are perfect. The tunic length is surprisingly long, maybe too long. It's funny, because I'm always griping about LLB "tunics" being too short. This one is long enough to be a coat. It falls just above my knees. It would be perfect were it about 2 inches shorter. It's not an item that lends itself to hemming, otherwise I would. I haven't decided whether or not to keep it. I don't think of myself as short (5'3 1/2") and I am not fat (120lbs.) I can't understand the fit. Were it not so long, and borderline tight across the shoulders, I would definitely keep it. At this point, I just don't know…

This is the fourth flannel or chamois LLBean tunic that I've purchased from LLBean. I like them all but this is my favorite. I chose the cranberry multi-plaid and the color is vibrant. It is flattering and very comfortable. I like that it's a bit longer in length. The only slight criticism I'd offer has been mentioned by a few other reviewers – the buttons are unusually small. If you had any dexterity issues such as arthritis this could be an issue.

Compared to prior but recent years, this chamois is slightly thinner, however you have to compare them side by side to notice (or be a little too committed to Bean chamois).
It’s a very nice quality and is suitable for gift giving. Easy earner for hanger space: casual good this year, casual grocery run next year, and easy shift to pajama/robe around-the-house lounging wear in years to come.
Small fits me at almost 5.4, broad shouldered, hourglass, size six. Does not figure flatter but doesn’t cause self loathing, either. Worth full retail and worth having a backup if you love itsuper versatile. I am generally not buying much from Bean anymore, but this triggershope.

The quality is top notch, but the black/white looked more dull muted gray and creamy dull vs. jet black and white to me. Didn’t like the color or the stiffness of the sleeve cuff. I returned as it was a bit heavier fabric than I imagined, as well. Nice deep pockets and long length, though. I’m 118 lbs., 5’6″ and an XS was a tailored fit.

My 2nd one ! I love the tunic it’s soft and warm and pockets on the side . Wear as a shirt or a long coat or with leggings or jeans .
Lingminter –
Too snug in the shoulders. Purchased for winter layering but that was impossible. Also, material looked worn after a couple of washes. I do love the cut and length though.

Different fabric than I expected, but nice and softer too. Glad I got Large instead of the recommended XL. 5’3″ 140 lbs. The large was good sleeve length and not tight across my 40″ chest.

This tunic is great because it fits nicely. So many tunics are giant oversized shirts. This one is a longer, tunic-style shirt that fits well through the bust and shoulders. It’s not too big through the hips but doesn’t hug. The material is very soft.

I got this tunic for a trip to Alaska. I loved the length. I am 5’9″ and it was great over my tunic tees. I washed and dried it before wearing and it laundered beautifully, no curled collar or pocket corners or puckered plackets. The pockets are quite roomy, big enough for gloves, etc. Very soft and comfortable too. It was like a lightweight jacket that my down coat went over easily. Quality LL Bean.

I did not plan on purchasing this tunic, but when I tried it on, I knew it was mine. I am 5’9″ with wt at 180 and I purchased a large. Great fit! This is not overly large like some tunics can be, but slimming and the perfect length. Nice weight to wear as a light jacket in the Fall or as a layer for warmth in the Winter. Beautiful color will match with much. Excited to wear soon!

This is a comfortable, cozy and long tunic shirt. It has fabulous pockets. I ordered a large and should have ordered a medium, but that is my mistake.
Heanne –
Great flannel shirt that’s colorful. Soft and warm. Tunic length is a fun change.

Not just another plaid flannel shirt! This one is nicely designed and constructed to really make it a standout. Does it sound crazy to call a flannel shirt “flattering” or “slimming”? This one is! Looking forward to wearing this one in a number of ways for a long time. A classic made classy!

fabric is great but finish work was terrible. At that price one would expect the plaid to match on the side seams.

I purchased this tunic on a recent trip to Freeport. It’s length, weight, and functionality make it my favorite piece from LL Bean. I do think it runs slightly large. I purchased a large (my usual size) and could have used a medium for a more fitted look.

I absolutely loved the colors and pattern of the Dark Lagoon Jacquard and I hemmed and hawed about buying it for a year. I finally purchased it last week as a birthday present to myself believing this would last me a lifetime. Unfortunately upon inspection the fabric quality was very disappointing. The weave was looser than I was expecting and the cotton was already starting to look pilly. This may only be a problem due to the intricate patterns. It basically looked like it was already worn and looked “fuzzy” when it came out of the bag. I knew that as soon as I washed and wore it, it would shrink and start to pill up and threads might get pulled out. I am already in the process of returning it. Maybe the simpler patterns are holding up better.
