Very thick – exactly what I had hoped for – but still soft on my skin. Beautiful over shirt. Would like to see more interesting plaids/colors/designs, though. Taking one star off for the combination of uninteresting colors offered, the fact it is slightly smaller and more fitted than all other LLB Slightly Fitted shirts, and because it came out of the bag reeking of mildew, though I am hopeful that laundering it will resolve that. The blue plaid was what I went with, but if it was offered in, say, the numerous plaid tartans, or maybe some western style light neutral-colored plaids, I would likely buy at least one more. Overall a very nice, thick overshirt. Reminds me of the thicc twill shirts I had in my youth, which is exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased. Hopefully it does not shrink at all in the wash.

I ordered this shirt in January with a month and half backorder, that’s how much I liked the look of it. The striped version is a nice alternative to the sea of plaids. However, it just arrived over the weekend and I am sorry to say it misses the mark for me. The fabric is weirdly clingy, odd given that it is a substantial twill. It also does not hang all that nice and the stripes end up looking wobbly. The worst aspect, for me, is that the lower pockets that are on seam. They are too far back to be comfortable to actually use and so all they do is add bulk at the love handles (don’t need any help there!). Sending it back unfortunately.

The whole side pocket thing is kind of weird, but I decided I like it. My wife sewed leather patched on the elbows and I’m hoping I can get many years of service out of it. In fact I’m wearing it now.

Other LLBean XL shirts fit me well, but this one was borderline and AFTER a cold wash the only shirt I can wear the Overshirt over is a t-shirt. NOT worth the top shelf price tag. The colors are super, that’s it.

Disappointing for the price. Most XL shirts fromm LL Bean fit me well. This one was a bit snug and even more so after washing. Great colors but that’s about it.

Good looking shirt but runs very large. I got an XXL based on the size chart. Came in huge, much bigger than advertised. Don’t believe the generic size chart. Switched it with an XL

The fabric is a coarse loose weave. The fit along the shoulders, back and arms was restrictive. I ordered large for my size at 6ft.0, 175 lbs. The quality was not what I expected.

Fabric was quite nubby, suggesting it would catch and pull in the brush. Fit was slightly small for a size large (my standard LLB choice) making buttoning up too snug. Returning today.
