Captain1818 –
Runs small. Returned for refund. Would be great if they fit. Love the design and concept.
Lyn727 –
Great weight. Light, breathable. Legs are very narrow, though. Now meant for strong thighs. Fit is great everywhere but as I sit, there’s no give in the thighs.
Traveler –
Perfect fit. Petite 10. Very flattering ! Cant wait to travel next month and wear these.
Bruce –
Great warm weather pants – hiking, fishing.
Light and airy
Jean I –
Once I realized that I’d mistakenly ordered a tall size and returned it for a regular one, I became a very happy camper. The pants are exactly what I want for both travel and hiking. I like the color, the added belt, the deep pockets, the lightweight and comfortable material, and the longer-than-some-other-brand convertible shorts. Thanks once again for helping me to create the perfect wardrobe.

I really liked the look of this pants, which is hard to come by in a zip off. I originally ordered the XL and they were definitely too big so I ordered the L and they are drastically too small. I think LLBean is missing a size
Beth –
I absolutely loved the pant style when these first came out.. then I bought a pair a couple of years ago and the legs were too big. These are a lot better.
DKtx –
These fit well and are made of a nice, light rip stop nylon fabric. I’m 5’4″, 160 lbs and the XL Pet. was a perfect length and fit well around the waist, although not as high waisted as I prefer. They are a bit baggy, but I like that for active wear. The legs zip on and off very easily and the zippers are color coded so you can tell right from left. My only complaint, and the reason I took off one star is that the pockets, all of them, are too small to be useful. There is no pocket that will hold a 6″ phone and my car keys fall out of the front pocket if I bend down. If the pockets were deaper, these would be great pants.
Tiger G –
Great pants. Well made. Good quality fabric. Everything a person would want in pants. If you have great big wide hips. I don’t. They look like jodphurs on me. LOL. I’m giving them to my sister who has wide hips.
Bismark –
Perfect pants for nature hikes. Fits as expected. Easy on/off of lower part
Carolg –
I love these, true to size. Tjey seem to keep me cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s cool. They are a little stretchy but not too much. The shorts are about 8 inches inseam. High elastic waist.
Jeannette –
Comfortable on hikes. The zippers seem to be strong, for now.
EjML –
The pants are well made and wonderful for warmer weather. The dry quickly if you get wet and they have “give” in the fanfic for climbing. They are true to size and durable for long hikes over several days. If they had ten colors, I would by them all!
Hiker –
Since zippers don’t stretch, zippers around lower thighs prevent taking long steps and lifting knees high. If zippers were at widest part of thigh (so shorts would be shorter) this design would work much better.
Rachel K –
Wayyyyyyy to short. Ugh. I have purchased L.L. Bean pants before without this issue.
Elly –
The fit is somewhat unusual, in that there seems to be less room in the thigh area than I would like. So the result is that the front of the pants feels tight.
Sassy –
These pants are a bit of a slimmer cut than another brand.
Broncgirl –
The quality, style and price is perfect. I am a small and ordered small, they were way to big.
Hiker –
The pocket design in these hiking pants creates a balloon effect and look in the hip area… Not the flattering, athletic fit I was looking for. These are going back and I’ll keep looking.
MR13 –
These were really nice quality, but the fit was strange. I am 5’4 and an athletic 140lb build and it was too loose in my waist but too tight on my thighs. Tried wearing a few times but ultimately returned. Also too long for my inseam.
Sarah –
Like the material. The front pockets are way too small and the right hand side/cargo pocket should be large enough to hold a cell phone. Otherwise the pants are very comfortable.
MrsB –
I bought these because while I prefer wearing pants, sometimes it becomes too hot while hiking and I need to wear shorts. The lower leg unzips easily. They perform well, but the seam where the zipper is located presses somewhat across my thigh when I sit down. The instructions say not to iron, but they were a wrinkled mess after washing so I wound up ironing on a warm setting.
